Butterfly Necklace: Meaning, How to Read Yours, and What the Butterfly Means
A butterfly necklace stands for a change you've come through. A butterfly spends part of its life sealed inside a chrysalis and comes out with wings, so a butterfly pendant is usually worn or given for a new chapter, growth after a hard time, freedom, hope, or a love that has grown. Two butterflies usually mean a couple. In many cultures, the butterfly also stands for the soul, which is why some people wear one in memory of someone they've lost.
In India, the butterfly carries one more meaning that most guides miss. In Bengali, the word for butterfly is projapoti, which is also the name of Prajapati, the creator, who is invoked to bless a marriage. That's why so many Bengali wedding cards carry a small butterfly, and why a butterfly mangalsutra is more traditional than it looks.
This guide shows you how to read a butterfly necklace by four clues: its pose, its number, its colour, and who gave it. You'll also find what the butterfly means across India and the world, what it says as a gift, when to give one this festive season, what it costs in India today, and how to choose one you'll actually wear.

The short answer
- One butterfly: transformation, a fresh start, freedom, and hope. This is the most common meaning.
- Two butterflies: love and partnership. In Chinese and Japanese tradition, a pair of butterflies stands for a happy, lasting marriage.
- Three or more: family, a group of friends, or joy in plenty.
- From a partner: "you still give me butterflies", or "I love who you're becoming". It's romantic without the pressure of a heart or a ring.
- From a parent: often a nod to titli, the Hindi word for butterfly, which is also used as a girl's name and a pet name.
- In memory of someone: in many cultures, the butterfly stands for the soul. A butterfly necklace is a gentle way to keep someone close.
- In Bengal: marriage. The butterfly sits on wedding cards beside the invocation to Prajapati.
Why the butterfly means change, and why the real meaning is in the chrysalis
Most guides say "transformation" and move on. The biology behind it is more moving than that.
A caterpillar doesn't simply grow wings. Inside the chrysalis, much of its body breaks down, and its wings, legs, and new eyes are built from small clusters of cells it has carried since it hatched. Scientists call these clusters imaginal discs. So a butterfly isn't a caterpillar with a makeover. It's the same creature, rebuilt from the inside, using something it had all along.
That's why a butterfly necklace suits someone who has been through a hard rebuild: a recovery, a breakup, a career change, a move to a new city, or a loss. It says: what you needed was already in you.
| Life stage | What it stands for | A moment it fits |
| Egg | Potential. A beginning nobody can see yet | A new venture, a first day, a plan just made |
| Caterpillar | Growing, learning, taking in the world | A student, a first job, a new hobby |
| Chrysalis | The quiet, hard middle part. Waiting and rebuilding | Someone in the middle of exams, treatment, a divorce, or a career break |
| Butterfly | Arrival, freedom, being seen | A graduation, a recovery, a wedding, a promotion |
One thing most guides skip: almost all butterfly jewellery shows the final stage. But the chrysalis is the stage most people are living through when someone gives them a butterfly. The pendant is a promise about where they're heading.
How to read a butterfly necklace: four clues
Two butterfly necklaces can say very different things. Look at four clues: the pose, the number, the colour, and the giver. What the butterfly is paired with adds a fifth layer.
Clue 1: the pose
Real butterflies hold their wings in different ways, and each pose has a reason. Designers borrow these poses whether they mean to or not.
| Pose on the pendant | What real butterflies are doing | How it reads |
| Wings spread flat, facing you | Basking. Many butterflies open their wings in the sun to warm up before they fly | Openness and confidence. Being seen as you are |
| Wings closed, seen from the side | Resting. India's orange oakleaf looks exactly like a dry leaf with its wings shut, then flashes orange and deep blue when it opens them | Quiet strength. Something still unfolding. Privacy |
| Tilted across the chain | Landing or taking off | Movement, a journey, a decision just made |
| Outline or cut-out wings | Not a real pose. A design choice | Lightness and freedom, with nothing weighing it down |
| One wing, or half a butterfly | Not a real pose. A design choice | Individuality. Or one half of a pair, with the other half worn by someone else |
| Several butterflies among charms or flowers | Feeding and moving through a garden | Joy, abundance, a full life |
A detail worth knowing: the orange oakleaf was one of three finalists when India voted for a national butterfly in 2020. Its whole story is the closed-wing meaning: plain on the outside, brilliant once it opens.
Clue 2: the number
| Number | Usual meaning | Good for |
| One | Your own change, freedom, and hope | Yourself, a graduate, a new job, a fresh start |
| Two | A couple, love, partnership. Also two people who grew up side by side | Partners, a wife, sisters, best friends |
| Three | Family, or a group of three | A mother of two, three sisters, a friend trio |
| Many, or a cluster | Joy, celebration, a full life. One of the collective nouns for butterflies is a "kaleidoscope" | Birthdays, weddings, someone who brings people together |
Clue 3: the colour
Colour meanings for butterflies are modern readings, not ancient rules. In India, though, colour already carries meaning of its own, and that's usually what people read first.
| Colour | Common reading | What it can mean |
| Gold or yellow | Joy, warmth, good fortune | Auspicious. Haldi, marigolds, and Basant Panchami are all yellow |
| White or clear sparkle | Peace, purity, a new start | Peace. In many Hindu families, white is also the colour of mourning, so a white butterfly can carry a memorial meaning |
| Blue | Calm, trust, freedom | Krishna's colour, and the colour of Maharashtra's state butterfly, the Blue Mormon. Royal blue is also a Navratri colour, worn this year on Wednesday 14 October |
| Pink | Young love, tenderness, playfulness | A soft, romantic gift |
| Purple | Dignity, healing | The purple butterfly is also the symbol of lupus awareness worldwide |
| Green | Growth, renewal, health | New life. Many married women wear green in Sawan |
| Red | Passion, love | Marriage. Red is the bridal colour in much of India |
| Black | Endings, change, protection | Protection from nazar. The black beads of a mangalsutra carry the same idea |
| Many colours | Celebration | Festive and playful |
Clue 4: who gave it
The same butterfly can say "I love you", "I'm proud of you" or "I'm thinking of them". The giver decides which, and the gift table further down shows how each relationship usually reads it.
And what it's paired with
| Butterfly with | What the pairing adds |
| A heart | A love that has grown or changed shape over time |
| Flowers | Joy and attraction, like a butterfly drawn to a bloom |
| An initial or name | Your own transformation, or the person you're carrying with you |
| An evil eye | Change, protected |
| A moon or stars | Dreams, and change that happens quietly, out of sight. More in our guide to moon necklace meaning |
| Black beads, as in a mangalsutra | Marriage as a new life |
What the butterfly means
Most butterfly necklace guides draw on Greek, Chinese, Japanese and Mexican traditions, and say nothing about India. Yet the butterfly has its own meanings here, and some of them shape how a butterfly necklace will be read at a family function.
In Bengal, the butterfly means marriage
Hindu Bengali wedding cards traditionally open with an invocation to Prajapati, often written as Sri Sri Prajapataye Namah, and many carry a small butterfly beside it. The reason is a lovely piece of wordplay. In Bengali, projapoti means butterfly, and it is also the name of Prajapati, the creator, who is called on to bless the couple.
The link runs into everyday life too. In many Bengali homes, if a butterfly lands on someone, the family teases that their wedding is on its way.
Why this matters for jewellery: a butterfly mangalsutra isn't only a modern reinvention of a traditional piece. Read the Bengali way, it's a marriage symbol on a marriage necklace. Our guide to types of mangalsutra covers regional designs and what survives daily wear.
A butterfly at home means good news
Across many Indian households, a butterfly flying into the house is taken to mean that guests, good news, or money are on the way. It's folklore rather than scripture, but plenty of grandmothers will tell you so.
Titli: a name and a word of love
In Hindi and Punjabi, a butterfly is a titli. It's used as a girl's name and as a pet name, and it turns up in film and pop songs. Titliaan, the Punjabi hit released in November 2020, passed 333 million views on YouTube. Calling someone your titli is affectionate, light, and a little protective, which is often what a parent means when they give a daughter a butterfly.
What "butterfly" is in your language
| Language | Word for butterfly |
| Hindi and Punjabi | titli |
| Bengali | projapoti |
| Marathi | phulpakhru |
| Gujarati | patangiyu |
| Tamil | pattampoochi |
| Telugu | seethakoka chiluka |
| Kannada | chitte |
| Malayalam | poompatta |
India's own butterflies
India has more than 1,300 butterfly species, and every September, volunteers across the country count them during Big Butterfly Month, which began as Delhi Butterfly Month in 2017. This year's count has just ended.
In 2020, India held a citizen poll to choose a national butterfly. It ran from 11 September to 8 October and drew 59,754 votes. The three finalists were the Krishna Peacock, the Common Jezebel and the Orange Oakleaf, and the shortlist went to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. India still hasn't officially notified a national butterfly. The winner of the vote, the Krishna Peacock, is a Himalayan and north-eastern swallowtail with black wings, a thin yellow band and a large patch of blue. If you want a butterfly necklace with an Indian story, blue and gold is the colourway.
Several states have also named a state butterfly. Maharashtra was the first, choosing the Blue Mormon in 2015.
| State | State butterfly | Colours to look for in a necklace |
| Maharashtra | Blue Mormon | Velvety black with bright blue |
| Karnataka | Sahyadri Birdwing | Black and golden yellow |
| Kerala | Malabar Banded Peacock | Black with a shimmering blue-green band |
| Tamil Nadu | Tamil Yeoman | Warm orange and brown |
| Uttarakhand | Common Peacock | Black dusted with iridescent green and blue |
| Arunachal Pradesh | Kaiser-i-Hind | Green with yellow patches |
| Goa | Malabar Tree-Nymph | Creamy white with black markings |
| Tripura | Common Birdwing | Black and yellow |
| Jammu and Kashmir | Blue Pansy | Deep blue with eye spots |
A gift idea most people haven't thought of: for someone who has moved away from home, a butterfly in the colours of their home state's butterfly is a small, private way to say "you carry home with you".
Butterfly meanings around the world
| Tradition | What the butterfly means | The detail behind it |
| Ancient Greece | The soul | The Greek word psyche meant both "soul" and "butterfly" |
| China | Lasting love and long life | In the legend of the Butterfly Lovers, Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai become butterflies after death. The word for butterfly, diΓ©, also sounds like a word for old age, so butterflies wish someone a long life |
| Japan | The soul, and a happy marriage | Butterflies were seen as the souls of the living and the dead. Two butterflies dancing together stand for marital happiness. The powerful Taira clan used a butterfly crest |
| Mexico | Ancestors coming home | Monarch butterflies arrive in the forests of central Mexico around the Day of the Dead (1 and 2 November). In pre-Hispanic folklore, held by communities such as the PurΓ©pecha of MichoacΓ‘n, they carry the souls of ancestors |
| Christianity | Resurrection | Caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly mirror life, the tomb, and new life |
| Science and everyday English | Small causes, big effects. Nerves. Sociability | Meteorologist Edward Lorenz's 1972 talk asked whether the flap of a butterfly's wings in Brazil could set off a tornado in Texas, giving us "the butterfly effect". "Butterflies in your stomach" means nervous excitement, and a "social butterfly" is someone who loves company |
Butterflies as the sign of a cause
A butterfly sometimes stands for a cause, which is worth knowing before you choose one as a gift.
- The purple butterfly is the symbol of lupus awareness. About half of people with lupus develop a rash across the cheeks and nose shaped like a butterfly, and groups such as the Lupus Foundation of America use the purple butterfly as a symbol of hope.
- "Butterfly skin" is the everyday name for epidermolysis bullosa, a rare genetic condition that makes the skin as fragile as a butterfly's wing. The DEBRA charities use a butterfly as their emblem.
- Mental health recovery. Many people wear a butterfly as a quiet, private sign that they're getting better after a hard time.
None of this makes a butterfly a risky gift. It just means a butterfly can carry a meaning the wearer hasn't told you about, so let them tell you what theirs means.
What it means when someone gives you a butterfly necklace
In India, the same butterfly can say very different things depending on who hands it over.
Here's how it's usually read.
| From | To | What it usually says | Design that fits | A line for the card |
| Partner | Partner | "You still give me butterflies" | One or two butterflies | "Still butterflies." |
| Husband | Wife, on Karwa Chauth | "Our marriage keeps growing" | A butterfly mangalsutra | "Still choosing you, every day." |
| Parent | Daughter | "My titli, go and fly" | A small single butterfly | "Fly far. Come home often." |
| Brother | Sister, on Bhai Dooj | "Look how far you've come" | A butterfly necklace with matching studs | "Proud of every version of you." |
| Friend | Best friend | "We grew up together" | Two butterflies, one each | "Same garden, different wings." |
| Anyone | A graduate, a new job, a move | "This is your flight" | One butterfly, wings open | "Your turn to fly." |
| Anyone | Someone recovering from a hard time | "You're coming out of the chrysalis" | One butterfly, wings closed or tilted | "Rebuilt, not broken." |
| Anyone | Someone grieving | "They're still close" | A simple gold or white butterfly | "Always near." |
| Anyone | A new bride, especially a Bengali one | Prajapati's blessing | A butterfly mangalsutra or a single butterfly | "To your new life." |
| You | Yourself | "I did this" | Whatever you'd pick without a reason | No card needed |
Is a butterfly necklace a romantic gift? It can be, but it doesn't have to be. A butterfly is romantic without the pressure of a heart, and it's unlikely to be read as a proposal. That makes it a safe choice early in a relationship, and an easy one for friends and family.
For more on gifts that get worn rather than stored, see our guides to first Karwa Chauth gifts for your wife, Bhai Dooj gift ideas for your sister, and self-gift ideas.
Is a butterfly necklace lucky or unlucky?
There's no widely followed Indian rule that makes a butterfly necklace unlucky. The folk beliefs that do exist are cheerful ones: good news at the door in many homes, and a wedding on its way in Bengal.
Some people worry that butterflies are short-lived, so a butterfly gift might mean a short-lived love. Many adult butterflies do live only a few weeks, but the butterfly's meaning has never been about how long it lives. It's about what it becomes.
If you follow astrology, treat a butterfly necklace as a symbol, not a remedy. When astrologers prescribe jewellery, they specify the stone, metal, weight, and day to start wearing it, and a fashion pendant isn't made to those rules.
A note on timing. Many families avoid buying new jewellery during Pitru Paksha, which ends on 10 October 2026. If yours does, make your shortlist now and order from 11 October, the first day of Navratri. Leave time for delivery before Karwa Chauth.
When to give a butterfly necklace this festive season
| Occasion (2026) | Date | Why a butterfly fits |
| Navratri and garba | 11 to 19 October | A light, festive pendant that won't swing about while you dance. On royal blue day, Wednesday 14 October, a blue butterfly is the obvious pick |
| Karwa Chauth | Thursday 29 October | A butterfly mangalsutra ties the gift to marriage itself, and she can wear it every day afterwards |
| Diwali | Sunday 8 November | A new start for the new year. Gold-toned butterflies sit well with festive wear |
| Bhai Dooj | Wednesday 11 November | For a sister who has grown into someone you're proud of |
| Wedding season | November to February | For the bride, bridesmaids, or a Bengali bride who knows the projapoti story |
| Results day, graduation, a first job, a move | Any time | The classic butterfly moment |
What a butterfly necklace costs
Butterfly necklaces come at every price.
| Type | What you get | Price range we saw | Choose it if |
| Solid gold with diamonds or gemstones | 9KT to 18KT gold, small diamonds or coloured stones | About βΉ6,700 to βΉ59,100 across 30 butterfly pendants at one large Indian jeweller | You want metal value, resale, or an heirloom |
| 18K gold vermeil | 925 sterling silver with a thick 18K gold layer | βΉ5,799 to βΉ7,399 for KYMEE's two butterfly necklaces | You want the gold look for daily wear and don't need resale value |
| 925 silver | Sterling silver, rhodium or rose-gold finish, zircon stones | About βΉ2,000 to βΉ5,300 on sale at one large silver brand | You prefer white metal or a smaller budget |
| Gold-toned fashion jewellery | Gold-coloured finish over a base metal that isn't always named | From about βΉ1,000 to βΉ2,600 at one demi-fine brand | You want a trend piece for occasional wear |
The gram maths for solid gold: in 2026, 18K gold in Delhi was βΉ11,208 per gram. A 2-gram 18K butterfly pendant holds about βΉ22,400 of gold before making charges, stones, and 3% GST. The lowest prices in solid gold usually come from 9KT, which is 37.5% gold. If you buy solid gold, check for the BIS hallmark and its six-character HUID code. Here's how to check gold purity.
How to choose a butterfly necklace you'll actually wear
A butterfly necklace usually lives close to the skin, day after day.
These checks help it last.
- Ask for the pendant size in millimetres: Many listings show only weight. Under about 10 mm, a butterfly reads as a delicate sparkle. From about 15 mm, people can tell it's a butterfly from across a room.
- Check the chain length: 16 to 18 inches (40 to 45 cm) puts a pendant at the collarbone, where a small butterfly looks best. Our necklace size chart shows every length.
- Do the flip test: A butterfly is symmetrical, so a flipped pendant still looks like a butterfly from a distance, but the back may be plain or show the settings. Pendants fixed to the chain at both wings rarely flip. Pendants on a single loop can.
- Check the wing tips: Pointed wing tips, prongs, and open cut-outs can catch net dupattas, zari, woollen shawls, and long hair. Flat pavΓ© and enamel wings catch the least.
- Mind the weight: Around 1.5 to 2.5 grams is comfortable for all-day wear.
- Read the stone name: Moissanite, cubic zirconia, lab-grown diamond, or natural diamond should be written on the listing and the invoice.
- Check what's under the finish: For skin that reacts easily, nickel-free 925 sterling silver or solid gold is the safer base. Plated brass is fine for occasional wear.
- For gold vermeil, ask for the micron figure: A thick gold layer is what separates vermeil from ordinary plating. Here's what gold vermeil is and how it compares with gold-plated jewellery.
If you plan to layer it, a small butterfly works well under a shorter plain chain. Our guide to how to wear a pendant necklace covers necklines and combinations for Indian wardrobes.
KYMEE's butterfly necklaces
KYMEE makes two butterfly necklaces today. Both are 18K gold vermeil over nickel-free 925 sterling silver, with a gold layer of at least 2.5 microns. KYMEE uses moissanite only as small accent stones and cubic zirconia (CZ) for larger stones.
1. PavΓ© Butterfly Necklace
A tiny pavΓ©-set butterfly pendant on a fine chain, made to sit at the collarbone and to layer into an everyday stack.
- Meaning it leans towards: the single butterfly. Your own fresh start, freedom, and everyday hope
- Best for: a first butterfly necklace, daily wear and layering, a graduate or a new job, a Bhai Dooj gift, or a gift to yourself
- Skip it if: you want colour, two butterflies, or a large statement butterfly
See the Pave Butterfly Necklace
2. Sparkling Butterfly Modern Mangalsutra
A modern mangalsutra with a sparkling butterfly motif in 18K gold vermeil, made light enough for daily wear.
- Meaning it leans towards: marriage as a new life. Read the Bengali way, it's Prajapati's butterfly on the necklace that marks a marriage
- Best for: Karwa Chauth, a first anniversary, a new bride who wants a mangalsutra she can wear to the office, and anyone who knows the projapoti story
- Skip it if: your family follows a specific regional mangalsutra design that has to be worn

Butterfly pieces to pair them with

Butterfly necklaces we don't make, and your options
You'll see these on Instagram and Pinterest, but they aren't in KYMEE's range today:
- Two-butterfly necklaces for couples, sisters or best friends
- Coloured or enamel butterfly pendants. The blue enamel butterfly wing exists only as a ring today
- Butterfly necklaces with an initial or name
- State-butterfly colourways, such as Blue Mormon blue or birdwing black and gold
- Butterfly lockets that open to hold a photo
- A butterfly with a large centre stone. KYMEE uses moissanite only as small accent stones, so a larger stone would be cubic zirconia (CZ)
- Solid gold, natural diamond or lab-grown diamond butterflies that hold metal value. For these, a hallmarked piece from a jeweller you trust is the better route
- Memorial pendants made to hold ashes or hair. These need a specialist maker
If you'd like one of the designs above in 18K gold vermeil, you can have it made. Fill in KYMEE's create-your-own form with the piece type (a necklace or a mangalsutra), your budget, and a sketch or photo, and the team replies within 24 hours with ideas and a quote. Any larger stone in a custom piece is cubic zirconia (CZ), with moissanite used only for small accents.
Caring for a butterfly necklace
A butterfly pendant is easy to live with, with a little care around its wings.
- Put it on last: Perfume, lotion, sunscreen, and hand sanitiser leave a film that dulls pavΓ© stones and the gold finish. Let them dry first.
- Take it off for water: Chlorine, salt water, and steam slowly dull gold vermeil. Remove it before bathing, swimming, and the gym.
- Protect the wing tips: Store it on its own in a soft pouch or lined box, so the wings don't scratch other pieces and the chain doesn't tangle. Keep it somewhere cool and dry, especially in the monsoon.
- Clean it gently: Wipe it with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For build-up, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then dry it completely. Here's our step-by-step guide to cleaning gold vermeil.
KYMEE's jewellery care guide covers the rest.
FAQs
What does a butterfly necklace mean?
A butterfly necklace symbolises transformation, a fresh start, freedom, and hope, because a butterfly goes through a complete change inside its chrysalis before it flies. It's often worn to mark a new chapter or growth after a hard time. In many cultures, it also stands for the soul, and two butterflies stand for lasting love.
What does it mean when someone gives you a butterfly necklace?
It usually means they see you changing, growing, or starting something new, and they're proud of it. From a partner, it often says "you still give me butterflies". From a parent, it echoes titli, a pet name for a daughter. Given after a loss, it can mean "they're still close".
What does a butterfly necklace mean from a boyfriend or girlfriend?
From a partner, a butterfly necklace usually means affection and admiration for who you are becoming. It suggests the feeling of "butterflies in your stomach" and a relationship that's growing. It's romantic without the weight of a heart or a ring, and it's rarely read as a proposal.
What do two butterflies on a necklace mean?
Two butterflies usually mean love and partnership. In the Chinese legend of the Butterfly Lovers, two lovers become butterflies and fly together, and in Japan, two butterflies dancing together stand for marital happiness. Two-butterfly necklaces are also given between sisters and best friends who have grown up side by side.
What does a butterfly mean in Indian culture?
In Bengal, the butterfly is a marriage symbol. Projapoti means butterfly in Bengali and is also the name of Prajapati, the creator invoked on Hindu Bengali wedding cards. Across many Indian homes, a butterfly flying indoors is said to bring guests or good news, and in Hindi, titli is a girl's name and a pet name.
What is a butterfly necklace called in Hindi?
A butterfly necklace is usually called a titli locket or titli pendant, since titli is the Hindi word for butterfly. In Bengali, the butterfly is projapoti, in Marathi phulpakhru, and in Tamil pattampoochi.
Is it lucky to wear a butterfly necklace?
Most butterfly beliefs are positive. In many Indian homes, a butterfly is a sign of good news, and in Bengal it hints at a wedding. There's no widely followed rule that makes butterfly jewellery unlucky. A butterfly necklace is a symbol, not an astrological remedy, so wear it whenever you like.
Can a butterfly necklace be a sympathy or memorial gift?
Yes. In Greek, Japanese, and Mexican traditions, the butterfly stands for the soul, and many people see a butterfly as a sign that someone they've lost is near. A simple gold or white butterfly makes a gentle sympathy gift. In many Hindu families, white is a mourning colour, which adds to that meaning.
What does a butterfly mangalsutra mean?
A butterfly mangalsutra pairs the mangalsutra's meaning of marriage with the butterfly's meaning of a new life. In Bengal, the link is older than it looks: the butterfly, projapoti, shares its name with Prajapati, invoked on Bengali wedding cards. It suits brides who want a modern, light mangalsutra for daily wear.
What does a purple butterfly necklace mean?
A purple butterfly usually stands for dignity, healing, and hope. It's also the worldwide symbol of lupus awareness, because about half of people with lupus develop a butterfly-shaped rash across the cheeks. If you're gifting purple, the wearer may connect it with that cause, which many people find meaningful.
Can men wear a butterfly necklace?
Yes. A butterfly is a symbol of change, not of gender. On a man, it usually looks cleanest as a small, flat butterfly on a fine chain, or a plain gold outline rather than a sparkling pavΓ© design. It can be worn alone or layered with a plain chain.
Is a butterfly necklace good for daily wear?
A small, flat butterfly pendant is one of the easiest daily necklaces. Choose one around 1.5 to 2.5 grams, on a 16 to 18 inch chain, with smooth wing tips and a nickel-free base metal. Take it off for bathing, swimming, and the gym, and put it on after perfume and lotion.
What does a white butterfly necklace mean?
A white butterfly is widely seen as a symbol of purity, spiritual transformation, and a sign that a loved one who passed is near. A simple gold or white mother-of-pearl butterfly pendant makes a gentle sympathy gift. In many Hindu traditions where white represents peace and remembrance, a white butterfly necklace carries a comforting, quiet meaning of spiritual peace.
